Casey and I met in 6th grade at SBEC in Olive Branch. Like many, our paths veered apart, but in 2016 our paths crossed again amd it wasn't long before we decided to continue our journey together.
Casey and I have been searching for land since spring 2022. 80-150 acres so that we could build a small farm to raise and grow our own food. Our thought process was begin with the farm and then add the restaurant later...We had been passing the Enid Depot for months but since we normally look at land while our kids are in school it was never open. One Friday afternoon in late Septemeber 2022, I found the restaurant page on Facebook and noticed it opened up at 4pm. Casey and I jumped in the car and drove down and sat up in the Tea room. When leaving, Shiloh was pulling on my leg and all of sudden I heard, "I'll be, I'd never thunk I'd see Brent Tippitt down in Enid Mississippi" In the countriest of accents. I looked up to see an old man walking towards me that I honestly did not recognize. Then another guy walked up carrying a small dog. He walked up and said Hey, Bud! This guy named Bud introduced me to David Howard as the owners. Finally about an hour later it dawned on me that it was Bud Sanders. My mom worked for him in the early 1990's when he owned a Remax in Hernando. About a week later David called me. He said Bud gave him my number and asked me to help him sell the building. Casey and I came down to look at the restaurant to buy for ourselves. We took over the restaurant November 1, 2022.
My parents divorced when I was 10, and I went to live with my mom. She had recently started selling Real Estate which means she was working 80-100 hours per week back then chasing down every lead. Which means I ate dinner by myself quite often. On Sunday's my mom would take me to Bull Frog Corner in Horn Lake and allow me to fill up the grocery cart with anything I wanted. It wasn't long before I was experimenting with everything. In 2004, I moved to Las Vegas and attended Le Cordon Bleu. I have been blessed to train and work with some of the best chefs in Vegas and in Memphis over the years.
God gave us the restaurant before the farm which we are grateful for.. We are still looking for land to start a farm. My goal is to become as farm to table as possible. I want to know where the food I eat comes from...
